Pam Tapscott-Lassiter ‘80, Vice-President of the Black Alumni Society was highlighted in the November insert of the Buckeye Sports Bulletin.
Why should someone get involved with an alumni society?
The networking opportunities are endless whether you are straight out of school, mid-career, relocating or retiring. This is such a valuable opportunity to grow personally and professionally. I am personally connected to many alumni via LinkedIn and when you hear we are everywhere, Buckeyes are everywhere!
What advice would you give to a new graduate moving to your area?
I would encourage a graduate to learn about all the Ohio State alumni association clubs and societies prior to graduation. Be sure to visit the Lhota Office of Alumni Career Management, to learn all about the opportunities they make available as well.
What is your favorite activity sponsored by your society?
My favorite activity to date is the Black Alumni Speed Networking Event! Students gain valuable professional contacts, possible internships, resume reviews and alumni are afforded the opportunity to network with each other. It is a fulfilling and rewarding experience and continues to show the willingness of our alumni in giving back.
