Professional Development Event with Target

Written by Alexandria Jackson, OSUBAS Student Rep

On Thursday, Oct. 19, the Ohio State Black Alumni Society and Target partnered together to provide the members of Ohio State’s Black Student Association (BSA) a night of professional development. The event centered around the many opportunities Target can offer students as well as Target’s company goals and values on diversity. There was also an opportunity for students to network with Target representative Carmen Taylor and Black Alumni Society board members. In a room full of students, Carmen Taylor gave a presentation and responded to questions about the Target Corporation and what they have to offer Ohio State students. Shortly after the event, students received an email with more information about how to take action and apply for internships within Target. This event was a big hit and allowed for students to see how diversity is valued within Target, present many opportunities to them, and expand their professional development.
